Welcome to NDCC

2009-10 NDCC Chairman of the Board Paul Maute

As a young architect 25 years ago, it was obvious to me that the city of Dallas was a dynamic environment for business. Compared to the cities of the Midwest where I had been raised and attended college, Dallas offered many more opportunities in my chosen field. When the time came to start a family and raise children, the same kind of high quality opportunities were available in residential neighborhoods and public schools.

The qualities that attracted my family and me to Dallas are the result of the efforts of many people and institutions over a period of many years; individuals and entities that had a vision for the future of our city and the focus and energy to implement that vision into reality. We all benefit daily from their efforts.

The North Dallas Chamber of Commerce (NDCC) is one such institution. For over fifty years, the NDCC has been an intelligent and engaged voice on issues of the day within our community. Its programs and events provide for the insightful and educational dissemination of information reflecting best business practices and current political discourse. The NDCC’s tenure in our community has earned it a well-deserved reputation as a stable platform for community leadership; because it attracts individuals and businesses that care deeply about our city, it is sought out by elected officials as a conduit for communication. This relationship of respect and trust is essential as the NDCC continues to accomplish its mission “To make Dallas a better place to live, work, raise a family and build a business.”

The NDCC is comprised of a diverse group of individuals and businesses that share a passion for our mission. This diversity ensures that the Chamber consistently provides value to members at all levels. In my experience at the NDCC, I appreciate this value personally as well as professionally.

The North Dallas Chamber of Commerce is simply the most effective use of one’s community service commitment. I encourage members to take this opportunity to become more involved in the organization, and suggest that non-members validate my claims by engaging Chamber leadership in conversation or visiting www.ndcc.org to determine how you can best fit in to our group.

To be a part of such a valued and well-respected organization is a pleasure. To serve as its Chairman of the Board for 2009 – 2010 is indeed an honor. I look forward to working with you to continue the work of those who have preceded us.

Paul W. Maute, AIA
2009-10 NDCC Chairman of the Board
