Business Toolbox Seminars

The NDCC Business Toolbox Seminar Series features quarterly small business seminars that highlight industry experts who offer current information that the businessperson can put to practical use. The presentations explore timely business issues, and speakers are available immediately following each seminar for questions.

date Tuesday, March 30
time 7:30 - 9:00 am
location North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, 10707 Preston Road

topic "Bridging the Generational Gap"

For the first time in history, communicating with employees means reaching out to four distinct generations: Traditionalists, Boomers, Xers and Millennials. Each group has different values, different experiences, and different expectations. What you used to know about recruiting, retaining, and motivating your employees no longer applies-the entrance of Millennials into the workforce has changed all the rules.

Learn about how the game has changed and reveals what you need to know to sustain a competitive advantage in today's marketplace. Their presentation explains who these generations are and what makes them tick. You'll learn how to: 1) build an effective generational blend for maximum competitive advantage; 2) recruit, retain, and motivate the best talent from each generation ; and 3) craft a branding message that speaks across the generational divide to attract top talent and make them want to stay.

speakers Sherri Elliott-Yeary, author of Ties to Tattoos and CEO of Gen InsYght with co-presenter Paul Wills, SVP of Michaels Wilder
