NDCC Annual Golf Classic

The 26th Annual NDCC Golf Classic will be held October 13, 2008, at the Prestonwood Country Club.

Teams of golfers compete for a variety of prizes during a fun day in the sun at the NDCC Annual Golf Classic, but they are not the only winners. The Dallas Police Department and Parks and Recreation Department also benefit from the event. Proceeds from the Golf Classic fund a locally based crime prevention institute for Dallas, Highland Park and University Park police officers and fund the Carole Young Law Enforcement Scholarship at the Southwestern Law Enforcement Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas. A portion of the funds is used to meet the individual needs of North Dallas police substations, which has included refurbishment of a Dallas Police Department mobile storefront and the purchase of a computer-based Spanish language program for police officers.

The Dallas Park and Recreation Department is another beneficiary, enjoying improvements to athletic fields used by the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce youth soccer and baseball leagues.

The Golf Committee meets from late spring to early fall; visit the calendar for meeting dates and times.
